About Us

The Patience Wright Chapter has had a rich history since its founding on November 28, 1939. As the second oldest DAR chapter in Orange County, Patience Wright Chapter has supported the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution through many local efforts.  

The DAR, founded in 1890 and headquartered in Washington, D.C., is:

    • a non-profit
    • non-political
    • volunteer
    • women's service organization
    • dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America's future through better education for children.

We think you will enjoy the learning, sisterhood, and service opportunities that our chapter offers to honor and preserve the legacy of our patriot ancestors.
